disability history & awareness month

October is Disability History and Awareness Month, a time to increase understanding, respect, and appreciation for people with disabilities — and to recognize the many ways they contribute to our schools, workplaces, and communities.

Did you know that one in five people in the United States has a disability? This month offers an opportunity to learn more, reflect on the importance of each and every human, and celebrate the accomplishments of individuals with disabilities throughout history and today.
