We also need parent volunteers for Safety Patrol before and after school! Volunteers help ensure our students and families can safely cross the crosswalk each morning and afternoon. Families, did you know you can help raise money for Carrolls Elementary simply by doing your everyday shopping? Check out the flyer for easy ways to support our school through Fred Meyer, Box Tops, and Grocery Outlet!
Families, please take a look at our Specialist Schedule so you know which days your child has PE, Music, and STEAM. Please remember that students need to wear tennis shoes on PE days so they can safely participate.
Kindergarten Families,
Just a reminder that the first day of Kindergarten is tomorrow, Monday, August 31st!
School starts at 8:40 AM. Students may arrive as early as 8:30 AM and will be monitored on the playground. Students will then go to their classrooms, where breakfast will be served.
Dismissal:
• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 3:25 PM
• Wednesday: 1:55 PM
Please remember that parents are not allowed to walk students to their classrooms. If you have school supplies that need to be delivered to the classroom, please drop them off in the office.
We can't wait to welcome our new Kindergarteners!

Today, your student will bring home a 2026–2027 Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefit Application. Please complete one form per household and return it to the school.
Our school district participates in a federal program called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), which is part of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. This means that all students attending Kelso School District schools are eligible to receive one breakfast and one lunch at no cost each school day throughout the 2026–2027 school year, regardless of family or household income.
However, some of the educational programs and services provided by the district are funded through state dollars that require schools to collect household income information for all students attending CEP schools.
Please complete and return the application even though your student will receive meals at no cost. Thank you for helping us ensure our district receives the funding needed to support our students!

Request: Submit Medications and Provider Orders Before School Starts
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
As we prepare for the first day of school, we want to ensure your child has everything in place to receive the care they may need starting on day one. To help us, we are requesting you to bring in any necessary medications and healthcare provider orders BEFORE the first day of school. Our school office will be open beginning August 19th. Your support allows us to have everything in place so we may administer medication to your child without delay.
• To support you with this, our school’s health specialist will be available on 8/13, 8/19, 8/24, 8/25 to receive medications and review documentation.
We understand this may not be possible for every family, and we appreciate any effort you can make.
