Liz Hoff... Liz is the glue that holds our office together! She is such a kind and friendly presence at CMS, and always makes me feel supported whenever I need anything. She typically always has the answer to every question, and when she doesn't, she usually knows where to go or who to ask to find it. She is helpful, organized and overall just great at her job! She is a wonderful person to work with!

Rebecca Keithley... She is so wonderful with our students who need SEL support! She is calm, patient and understanding, and is the perfect person to help our kiddos regulate, relate and reason (the 3 R's of SEL!), through their social and emotional needs. The work she does is so important, and CMS wouldn't be the same without her! I also just love working with Becky because she is so kind, positive and supportive!

Kristy Booterbaugh... Kristy is always so sweet and friendly whenever I am in the office. Even on the hard days, she greets staff, parents and students in a positive manner and is quick to support us in any way she can. She is a gem and we are lucky to have her in the office at CMS!

Justin Sitch... He is doing a phenomenal job with his caseload and brings such a great attitude and perspective to the counseling center. I really enjoy working with him and having him as part of our team!

Megan Thomas... Megan does SOOO much for Kelso and works incredibly hard. A lot of people don't see all that she does behind the scenes, but I really appreciate her. She is kind, supportive, and really pours her heart into her work. Megan is amazing!

Officer Brown... He takes the time to get to know kids and support them. I know many students who respect him and enjoy talking with him at lunch (they also like the stickers!). I appreciate that he is level headed, helpful, kind, respectful, and always has a smile. He's a great person to have at KHS!

Megan Elam... She has an awesome personality and is such a good addition to our counseling team! She is eager to learn, is a team player, and brightens our office with her laugh. Megan is amazing!

Danae McGregor... Danae has been working in our COVID testing center this year. She has adapted to the ever-changing COVID protocols with ease. She has provided tremendous support to the health specialists in numerous ways. Danae is respectful and kind to all of our staff, students and family members that come into the testing center. She is a great addition to the KSD team and we are lucky to have her.

Lexington staff... EVERYONE models "extraordinary people doing extraordinary things". The custodians work to maintain our amazing school while keeping it clean and safe. The paraeducators are student focused and advocate for students and support school-wide expectations. All teachers and specialists collaborate, advocate, and support our amazing students. The coordinators throughout the building and our behavior coach are student focused and support all staff. The counselors and TSEC staff provide interventions and ongoing support for students. The secretaries welcome students and families and support staff throughout the day. The nurses meet our students needs. The administrators advocate for staff and student needs and support each other.

Charla Schueller... Charla always makes an effort to say good morning and to address everybody with a positive and friendly attitude. I appreciate her willingness to always be helpful and answer even the silly questions. I am so glad that Charla is in the main office!

Katie Becker- Wallace Health Specialist... Katie is always willing to go the extra mile for her co-workers and her students. She is very knowledgeable and strives to provide the best care to her students. She treats everyone with respect and kindness. Wallace is so lucky to have her!

Tanya Holt - Lexington Health Specialist... Tanya is not only a great co-worker but she has also been my children's health specialist during their time at Beacon Hill and Lexington. I have always felt safe sending my kids to school knowing that she is available to provide medical care to them if needed. She provides exceptional care and treats all students with kindness and respect.

Dr. Julie Owens... she is knowledgeable, collaborative, and fun! Her energy and partnership is valuable to me, Carrolls, and our entire Kelso community!

Kelli Stewart... She is such a good role-model of love, laughter, and perseverance to her students and our whole staff! She always has a smile on her face and a warm heart that she shares with others, no matter how hard the day is going! We love you Kelli and so do all of your students!

Janell Wheatley ... She is really nice and gives everyone a fair chance to do the assignment. She’s always there to help us students.

Chris Wiseman... The support that he provides to staff and students is always positive. Chris works to create the atmosphere that any school strives for and he cares about Huskies. I am fortunate to work with him.

Our Special Education Staff... The work and compassion shown for each student has to be seen to understand. The team collaborates with each other and our general education staff to make sure that each student is getting what they need to be successful.

Zoe Dieter... Her compassion for students and staff at HMS is one of a kind. Her deep roots will be missed.

KVA staff... This is a group of people who get to know and foster love and learning for each and every student individually.

Scott Westlund... Scott is one of the smartest and most prepared people I've met. I have seen him quietly and without comment go above and beyond for the good of KSD for years. We are very fortunate to have him.

Molly Guler... Molly is one of the kindest, most thoughtful humans. She has so many great ideas and cares deeply about her work at KSD. Working with her is a joy.

Mary Beth Tack... Mary Beth is a true servant leader. She gives 3,000% of herself every day for the students and staff of KSD. She considers the well-being of all concerned in every action and never makes decisions without carefully weighing the options multiple times. The district is incredibly fortunate to have her, and I consider myself doubly fortunate to work alongside her.

John Fromdahl... His classes are always hilariously funny. Sometimes they can be weird and awkward. But still, his classes make me laugh everyday.

Brandon Green -Custodian KHS... Brandon goes above and beyond for anyone he encounters. Brandon does his job with pride and a positive attitude. Brandon is always a pleasure to see during the day and always takes time to make each person he encounters feel special and cared for. Brandon is the first to solve a problem if able. Stephanie Toms... Stephanie is the district nurse for our whole KSD. She works so hard every day to keep our district up-to-date with medical and health information. Stephanie has played a large role in getting the COVID testing center together along with assisting all the healthcare specialist at each school with anything they need. Stephanie always puts others before herself. She upholds the mission and values of a Nurse, Leader, and KSD employee. Thank you for all you do.

Heather Ogden... Heather is simply an amazing human being! She brings wisdom, knowledge, positive energy, creativity, and fun to Kelso! Thank you for all you do for staff and students in KSD!

Transportation Staff... Heavily depended on and greatly appreciated! Thank you for getting our kids to school and home safely everyday. My kids love their bus driver.

Natalie Schneibel... She is a phenomenal teacher and my daughter learned so much being in her class. She not only prepared my child for the next grade, she made her feel like she belonged. Mrs. Schneibel has a huge heart.

Mrs. Watkins at Lexington... She shows my son that he is valuable, smart, loved and accepted at school. This is not something he has experienced at school before so this is HUGE for him and our family. She is what good teachers are about!!!

Ms. Bolster... She is the most best teacher I could ever have because she will help when she can and she teaches me the things I need to know.

Colleen Brand... She works at so many buildings in our district and is amazing with each and every student she works with. Her kind heart, thoughtfulness and outstanding professionalism are some things that I truly appreciate about her. I am so glad we get to see her. #Once a Bear, Always a bear!

Lexington Title 1/LAP Para Educators... This team works to their full potential each and every day providing the very best reading support to our Eagles! They support one another and are a true definition of a team!

Debby Iverson... She has high standards for the work she does and rises to the challenges given to her as Coweeman’s librarian. She also cares about staff members.

Charla Schueller ... She’s everything we need from our high school lead secretary. She always brings a positive attitude to work, and is always helping people out. Her ability to manage students and staff in a respectful and collegial way makes for a great front office vibe.

Mr. Johnson... I enjoy learning about Microsoft Office and improving my typing. Mr. Johnson encourages this interest of mine and makes this class both a big opportunity for personal growth and a fun environment to end my day in. I find that this class is also helping me secure my plans for my near future, including the rest of my high school career, getting a job, getting into college, and eventually getting a career of my own. I can tell he is a favorite teacher across campus, and there is no doubt in my mind as to why. Mr. Johnson is very fun to be around while also managing his class very well.

Mr. Kilian... I always have a blast in Mr. Kilian's class. I took his Physics class last trimester and am currently taking his Earth/Space Science class, and I'm grateful my schedule worked to have him for two trimesters in a row because I always look forward to his class. While the conversations I have with Mr. Kilian are always greatly appreciated, I find his classroom is also very easy to be productive in. I don't distract easily in this class. I find that I am constantly learning new concepts that intrigue me, despite already having a baseline of knowledge when it comes to physics, the Earth, and our universe. It's also really fun pushing Mr. Kilian's buttons.

Ms. Lily (Ms. Cooper's assistant teacher)... I always see Ms. Lily helping out around the classroom. She not only provides artistic and creative guidance, but she also helps students out emotionally. While I don't interact with Ms. Lily a lot on my own, I strongly appreciate her presence in the classroom. The atmosphere is always significantly improved with her around.

Ms. Cooper... While I consider myself an artist outside of school, I wasn't particularly looking forward to taking a beginning art class. I figured a majority of the material would be stuff I already know, and I would be bored. While a lot of the subjects of our work is stuff I am familiar with, I find that I am always learning in Ms. Cooper's class and having fun at the same time. She is really friendly and easy to talk to, and her projects allow a lot of room for creativity.

Mr. Coughran... I always have a wonderful time in Mr. Coughran's class. He strongly motivates me to learn Spanish. While I was interested in becoming fluent before taking his class, I am now *certain* that this is a goal I want to achieve. The classroom has a lighthearted and fun atmosphere, which I know is my teacher's doing. I look forward to Mr. Coughran's class every day.

Mrs. Hoopfer... Mrs. Hoopfer helps me feel safer at school. It is clear she has a strong understanding of the importance of mental health, and she is incredibly compassionate. Her class is always very fun, even for first period geometry. She is very easy to talk to, and I appreciate feeling such strong support.

Marla Green... Marla is truly one of the kindest people I've ever met, and just a wonderful person to work with! I consistently feel supported with her as one of the admin in our building, and I am inspired by her dedication to our students and staff. Marla helps make CMS a great environment to work in!

Arianna Catlin... She has helped me through these past years.

Mr. White... Mr. White had some very LARGE shoes to fill this year, and every day he shows up to make a difference in the lives of his students. His positivity and dedication are inspiring, and he is extremely helpful and giving in the most selfless manner possible. I am thankful every day that he is here, and look forward to the future of his band/orchestra department. I am sure that we can expect exceptional things from him and his students in the years to come!

All of the farmers and staff of the CMS Garden Club... They are amazing hosts that make Garden Club SO much fun! I have learned lots of useful things from them, whether it's pruning and picking things in the garden or planning the Earth Day social in Mrs. Echle's room, I want to give them a huge thank-you!

Lunch Ladies ... They continue to feed our students through these challenging times. Their smiling faces and warm meals truly make a difference.

Mr. Gustin... He constantly is preparing us not only for college, but for life. He is very kind and treats us with respect, and we appreciate him and his constant effort!

Mrs. Ahola... She is really sweet and funny even though she tries to be really mean.

Cortney Lemierre... She is amazing at managing her innumerable secretarial and health clerk responsibilities.

Kelly Holter... She works incredibly hard at providing our students effective instruction that results in academic growth.

Clarissa Rinehart... I love so many things about Clarissa! First, her love and support for all of her students is something I absolutely admire. I constantly hear students say they love Mrs. Rinehart's classes, and I know this is a direct reflection of the love she shows her students each and every day. I also appreciate that Clarissa always treats me like a second teacher whenever I am in her classroom, and expects our students to do the same. Her classroom is a positive, respectful environment, because that's the kind of person Clarissa is.

Angie Knowles... As a first year counselor, it has been amazing having Angie on speed dial to answer all of my questions. I am a better counselor because of her.

Brandon Green... He always goes the extra mile for staff and students. He is the world's greatest custodian.

Jessenia Perez... She is the truancy officer that actually cares about the kids improving their attendance. Kids feel valued and respected by her.

Andrew Green... He is a rock star custodian!

Heather Hause "Cookie"... She always has a smile on her face and puts in so much work making our students meals. If a student needs something, she never hesitates to help. We love her!

Mrs. Wishard... Even when the class is being very rude and disrespectful, she doesn't give up. She's always doing her best to keep Huntington happy and positive. She also tries to make bonds with her students to have a healthy and good connection. When you are going through hard times, she is very understanding and does anything she can to help you through class.

Jamaica Hadaller... She is the kindest human. I'm so lucky I get to work with and learn from her everyday.

Shana Jabusch... She loves and takes care of my boys everyday. She is truly a gem and I feel so lucky that she is in our life.

Mark Connolly... I couldn't do my job without you! The fact that I get to laugh and learn everyday is such a gift.

Kim Allais... She has been a great addition to HMS staff. She is passionate about our students and collaborates with staff to make this year a success.

Jennifer Echtle... What I love most about Jennifer is her passion for her students and the subject she teaches. Even during tough times, Jennifer shows up and puts everything she has into sharing her love of science with her students. Science is a tough subject and I would bet that she doesn't always get the recognition from her students that she deserves. She should know, though, that her efforts don't go unnoticed by her co-workers!

Courtney Anderson... I am blessed to have Courtney as a colleague. She is a great person to work with. She will always go the extra mile to help another staff member or student. She truly embodies the spirit of "We Are" and her positive attitude is infectious.

Pennie Crawford ... Pennie is a wonderful teacher to our students with significant special needs. I've had the privilege of seeing Pennie work with these kiddos off and on for several years, and her level of compassion, patience and understanding of their needs is something to be admired. She is the perfect person in this position and her students love her!

Robbi Birdsell... What I appreciate most about Robbi is her obvious care for her students. She is the right balance of accountability and grace--holding her students to reasonable expectations, while showing love at the same time. Her dedication to Kelso and our students is admirable.

Emily Allred... Emily is always quick to show support to our students and her fellow staff members. Students feel safe with Mrs. Allred and I have always felt supported by Emily as her co-worker. She is a great example of a kind and respectful Coweeman Cougar!

World Language Teachers... You are so creative!....and fun!....and supportive of your students and team members. You work hard every day to help your students be confident about reading, writing, understanding and speaking another language!...and also help students to understand and accept people and cultures different than their own. We LOVE YOU!

Abby Booth... She is always there for the students and is doing her best to make her class the best environment she can. Her teaching style is one of the best I've seen. Abby also has great connection with her students, allowing her to build trust with them.

Megan Thomas... She is the best teacher ever. She is always there for her students and is someone you can always talk to. She understands your problems and will take it easy on you when your day is bad. Even when she’s having a bad day she still tries her hardest to make us happy. Megan Thomas ... She has the kindest heart and loves her students more than any teacher I've ever met. She truly cares about her students and wants to build bonds with them. She works her butt off for her kids and her school as a whole and deserves everything!

Custodian Kyle... He is a supportive staff member here at Butler Acres. He is often asked to go above and beyond his regular, daily duties. He is ALWAYS kind over the school radio. He has never once complained, He is the best custodian I have worked with here in Kelso. I know there are many other amazing custodians, so I give a shout out to ALL of our Kelso custodians. Thank you Kyle for making the staff and students smile everyday!

Kelso High CTE Department... The CTE department is a source of positivity and support. There isn't a better team to be a part of. Department meetings are so much fun with this awesome bunch of people.

Kim Allais... She is kind, supportive, understanding, and always ready and willing to listen and help when asked. She is always doing kind things for the staff which makes me feel seen and appreciated. She asks for feedback from her staff which shows me she values our thinking and ideas.

Coach S. Amrine... You admire, respect, and are very attentive to the boys when I watched football, returns from games, to and from the track & at night coming off the bus. Haley Cox... Haley cares so much about our school. She is a dynamite person to work with - there really isn't anything she can't do. Haley supports me and my student organizations every single day. I don't know what I would do without her!

Lacey Deweert, Principal... I ran into her before the beginning of 2021-2022 school year in the school near the auditorium, did not know Lacey was Principal but she took the time to listen to my concerns as I stopped to inquire. I asked of her name and she said she was principal & her name was Lacey! We had a nice conversation. Never forgotten. Thanks for speaking w/me Lacey. It is great for such staff members to stop, listen, be attentive, care & make a difference. Thanks!

Susan Morrow... She is always willing to help other teachers brainstorm engaging activities for students.

Lacey Deweert... Lacey is one of the most supportive administrators I've ever known. She stays calm and positive in the face of so many challenges. I LOVE that I can see her every day in the halls making connections with students and staff.

Joe McWilliam... Joe is one of the KINDEST people I know. He is patient and understanding with his students and coworkers. My yearbook students and I love having him as a chaperone on our trips - he is the reigning laser tag champion!

Shanelle Hillbery ... Shanelle is a wonderful new addition to our school. I love her positivity and her wiliness to work as a team. I am so excited to see what she does with our FFA program.

Michelle Mahitka ... Michelle is so great at taking time to check in with her coworkers. She makes me feel heard and seen. It is so easy to feel alone in education and I appreciate the time she takes to get to know me and listen to me. I am so glad she joined our team at KHS!

Mr. Cossi... Mr. Cossi has been a wonderful choir teacher who has taught me a lot about sing and the range of my voice and believes in kids to sing there best all the time no matter what has been going on in the people of choirs life .

Kelso High Staff... The staff makes the work fun and makes school more cheerful before you have to graduate. I cant wait till I sit in front of the staff and graduate because of their hard work of getting me to graduation.

Brittney Rister... Very helpful, can tell she loves her job! Also likes kids, which is probably somewhat necessary. Super efficient and always answers email very promptly. A pleasure to interact with every time I've needed to. Keep up the good work!!

Cathy in the sports department... Cathy was patient when I was lost with what I needed to do online with forms. She was helpful attentive and we got through it no matter how much time we had to take for getting the test complete I appreciate the valuable time to complete paperwork online that at times can be very frustrating, overwhelming, stressful and a not fun task for parents.

Mrs. Echtle... She made science class and the after school science club such an enjoyable experience and made science one of my favorite subjects.

Ally Garcia... She has made an amazing impact on the Kelso community, she has offered those throughout the school a warm smile and a caring heart whether they asked for it or not. Even when she's busy she doesn't fret when someone asks for help, and although she is sarcastic, her heart is forever in the right place.

Mrs. Pearsall... She works wonderful with her 1st grade staff. My daughter absolutely loves school and says she has the best teacher.

Mr. Roberts ... He’s a great guy he’s out going. I have been in his class the last 2 years and enjoy the time I spend in here. Also a very positive influence in my life in the class and on the court. Guy does love his cookies also.

Mr. Killian... He is my first period teacher and talks about running with me at the end of the period ,so that makes my day start of good.

Barnes Bears Staff ( yes, all of you)... Barnes has been a safe hub for my children when they came from a school that didn’t care about them at all. We don’t even live by the school anymore and we will continue to choice our children here every year! I appreciate that the staff will take 45 mins after they are off the clock to just talk to you about any issues that may have happened or just to talk about how great our children are. We are so unbelievably lucky to have you in our lives ❤️

Mrs. Anderson (Thressa)... She is a very encouraging PE teacher she is always there to remind you to keep going and you got this. She always reminds you to do what you are supposed to be doing.

Nancy Karnofski... She has been our fearless leader for our department for many years.

Lori Paul... Working with Lori is such a joy. She is so supportive, helpful, and kind. She never seems to mind all the endless interruptions and questions. We really couldn't do our job without her. She is positive, professional, and keeps confidences. Lori is always a bright spot in my day.

Butler Acres Elementary... I may have moved on to middle school, but once a Bluejay, always a Bluejay! I started late in kindergarten, but they welcomed me and made me feel special. I LOVED it there, and even when COVID hit and we went under construction, it was still a really fun school year. I learned so many things there, met my BFFs to this day, and had lots of fun in the Walk-a-thon and Turkey Trot! The staff is so kind, and I would totally recommend it to anyone in Kelso! THANK YOU BUTLER ACRES!!!

Rose Valley Elementary... I love that my daughter, who is in kindergarten, comes home everyday telling us about the new things she is learning and how excited about it she is. I can’t imagine our kiddo going to a different school, as that’s the school her dad went to. It feels like such a loving community and I am so happy to get to be a part of it.

Kelso Virtual Academy... I spoke with Mrs. Laura Hyatt and I’m happy that she is enjoying participating this year in the Academy. She is so loving and wise for all the 11th graders. Can’t wait to see her at the Academy.

Lexington Elementary... Safety updates for our children to keep them safe in a variety of situations, layout that makes sense (both interior and exterior), and the overall compassion from all the staff.

Butler Acres Elementary... Butler Acres is a special learning community. I can't believe I am lucky enough to work here everyday. It starts the minute I walk in the front doors, from our office to our teachers. I love coming to work. I feel valued and cared for every single day.

Huntington Middle... Even though it's been a tough year, the staff here is 100% about the kids and are willing to do anything to support kids, family and most of all- each other!!!!

Barnes Elementary... Barnes has been a safe hub for my children when they came from a school that didn’t care about them at all. We don’t even live by the school anymore and we will continue to choice our children here every year! I appreciate that the staff will take 45 mins after they are off the clock to just talk to you about any issues that may have happened or just to talk about how great our children are. We are so unbelievably lucky to have you in our lives ❤️
