As part of a school board initiative to elevate student voice in Kelso, the district is hosting listening tours at each school to hear directly from our students about opportunities, barriers, and celebrations in regards to their experience in our district.
We know that when students are involved in their learning, the outcomes are better. By collaborating with students in designing their educational experience, we can identify successes and barriers that will allow us to create an optimal learning culture for Kelso kids.
The lunch-time sessions began today at Rose Valley Elementary, and are scheduled to happen at every school in the district, concluding in May.
Our students are speaking. We're listening, and taking really good notes.
