The Kelso boys and girls wrestling teams punched their tickets to the Mat Classic  WA State Championship with great performances at the Regional events.

The boys team finished in second place out of twenty schools with individual Region champions from Wes Leeper (106 lb), Preston Myren (113), Koltin Rice (126), and Justin Broxton (132).  Ryder Newton (120)  and Nate Foulke (132) finished in second place.

For the girls, Marina Jimenez-Gonzalez (110) and Kamiah Gaerlan (115) both brought home the title.  Olivia Engel (120), Sheena McGregor (140) and Alexis Musser (105) all finished third to help the team finish in second place as a team.

The WIAA State Championship will take place at the Tacoma Dome Friday February 16 with the Finals held on Saturday the 17th.  A strong Hilander contingent will be looking to bring home the top honors.
