Four KHS art students have won some amazing awards!
Elizabeth Ruff and Hailey Smith won 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, in the U.S. Congressional Art Competition! Their work will represent SW Washington’s 3rd Congressional District by hanging in Representative Marie Gluesenkamp Perez's office for the following year.
And honors art students Jason Tran and Taryn McKay both won top honors at the OSPI Superintendent’s State Art Show. Jason’s work won from a jury (of professional artists) selection and Taryn won the “Inspire Washington” award. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the statewide art show, there will be a special celebration at Benaroya Hall in Seattle on May 30th. Jason and Taryn will both be presented with their awards and $200 at the ceremony.
