Allergen Menus

Kelso School District Nutrition Services will do its due diligence to accommodate all students with a Special Dietary Request on file. Please understand we are not equipped to operate contaminate free kitchens and will do our best by using separate utensils, prep areas, and cooking equipment. We cannot guarantee there will not be any cross contamination. If your child has a life threatening allergy the safest option is always a meal prepared at home.

When to complete a Special Dietary Needs Request Form...

  • If your student cannot consume any of the following food items/food groups:

    • Dairy, gluten, wheat, eggs, oats, soy, palm oil, sunflower oil, or a large variety of fruits and/or vegetables

    • If your student has a life threatening allergy to any food items served by Nutrition Services, we may be able to use students IHP in lieu of the Special Diet Needs Request Form (SDNR)

  • If your student cannot have fluid drinking milk please know that;

    • Soy milk is available at all schools in the milk coolers/breakfast bags if needed. Families do NOT need to complete a SDNR form to have soy milk available.

    • Nutrition services must follow SDNR form instructions. If the medical authority deems water/juice/almond milk etc. an acceptable substitute, kitchens will supply this item

    • If the medical authority does NOT list an acceptable substitute for fluid milk, soy milk is the standard USDA sub that must be used.

Special Diet Request Forms must be fully complete and signed by a recognized medical authority (MD, DO, ND, PA, ARNP) to be used in our USDA programs.
