DISTANCE LEARNING PLANS

Updated: 04-08-20

On Monday, April 6, 2020, Governor Inslee made the decision to close schools for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year. This closure is an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 and keep our community safe and healthy. During the closure, students will continue learning from home through June 19, 2020.

Based on the data teachers received during parent/student phone calls, it is clear parents of elementary students would like to receive learning packets and secondary students prefer online distance learning with a few students needing learning packets due to limited Wi-Fi capabilities.

K - 5 PLAN

Students in kindergarten through fifth grade will receive learning packets in three-week intervals, with the second three-week elementary grade level packet going out in the mail on April 17. There will be three weeks (15 days) of lessons in each packet. Please follow the schedule that came out in the first packet with up to two hours of paper/pencil work time Monday through Friday, with physical activity, games, and family time mixed into the remainder of the day.

6 - 8 PLAN

Students in grades six through eight will receive online distance learning lessons unless parents/students indicated limited Wi-Fi capabilities, and then they will receive learning packets in the mail.

9 - 12 PLAN

Students in grades nine through twelve will receive online distance learning lessons unless parents/ students indicated limited Wi-Fi capabilities, and then they will receive learning packets in the mail.

The high school learning packets will include a return envelope that is stamped and addressed to make it easy for students to return their completed work to the high school.
