Kelso Expands Learning Options for Families

Kelso School District's overarching goal is to return to “traditional” in-person instruction in a safe and sensible manner.  However, as we analyzed our Thoughtexchange survey results from June 8 and June 26 it became clear that we need to plan for multiple learning opportunities, and that a return to in-person learning (in any form) may be more than some families are currently comfortable with.

We understand that some families may want or need an online-only learning experience and we are pleased to share with you that our Kelso School Board approved the expansion of our already established Kelso Virtual Academy (KVA) to a kindergarten through grade 12 online learning option available in the fall.

Please email kva@kelsosd.org or complete the Parent Inquiry Form to begin the Kelso Virtual Academy registration process in order to enroll your student in the virtual-only learning experience.  Early registration will allow our District team to assign your student to a distance learning teacher and allow us to prepare for how to best provide this robust learning opportunity. Please note – completing the KVA registration process confirms that your student will not attend in-person classes for at least the first Trimester September 2 – November 25 (K-5th and 9th-12th grade students) or Semester September 2 – January 15 (6th - 8th grade students) of the 2020-2021 school year.  For early acceptance, please complete the form by Wednesday, August 5, 2020.
