With One Voice
With One Voice is a collaborative of Kelso and Longview School Administrators along with representatives from community prevention agencies. The mission of With One Voice is to Create a culture of wellness, addressing the issues of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use, abuse, and addiction through partnerships that maximize community resources without duplicating efforts.
This group formed in August 2008 by Kelso and Longview school administrators partnering with community prevention agencies to address substance abuse among the children and students in our community. The group met and discussed how “With One Voice” they could send a message throughout the community that children’s substance abuse problems need to be addressed and resources made available to those children and their families. One of the first steps of this group was to design a training conference to connect educators with community resources and give them the training needed to link students and their families with resources available in the community. This event was the Cowlitz County With One Voice Inservice Day October 9, 2009.
