Kelso
High School is a comprehensive, four-year high school, accredited
since 1927 through the Northwest Association of Schools and
Colleges. KHS houses fifty classrooms, a commons area, auditorium,
media center, cafeteria, pool, a green house, and three gymnasiums.
Of these facilities, the gymnasium, auditorium and cafeteria
areas are used extensively by the community throughout the school
year.

Through teamwork KHS will meet the challenge of developing responsible
citizens who are intellectually curious, lifelong learners.
The Kelso School District serves the population of 12,000 people
in and around the city of Kelso. Approximately 5,000 students
attend the one high school, two junior highs, one alternative
school, and seven elementary schools in Kelso School District.
Kelso School District employs approximately 325 teachers and
administrators, and 300 full and part-time support staff.
Kelso School District strives
to hire the very best staff to educate their students. KHS looks
for staff members who understand traditions and community pride
which runs deep through school. In fact, sixty percent of the
staff members at KHS are alumni.
KHS offers a wide range
of challenging academic courses to meet the diverse needs of
students. In addition to the core subjects of mathematics, language
arts, science and social studies, KHS electives include: art,
drama, home and family life, foreign languages industrial technologies,
marketing, computer science, music and physical education.
To qualify for a diploma
from the Kelso School District, a student must earn a minimum

the graduation requirements students must also pass the Reading
/ Writing WASL and complete a Culminating Project and High School
& beyond Plan in order to earn a Kelso High School diploma.
