KHS Announcements

Spring Testing: May 8th, 15th, 17th, 22nd &24th

We will be administering state tests in May. Not all students will be testing. Students who will be testing will receive a letter prior to the testing date. Click here for more information.

Students who are testing: Should attend school as usual on testing dates. AM bus runs will be on their normal schedule.

Students who are not testing: May arrive at 11:00 for classes but must find own transportation as buses will be on a normal schedule. There will be non-testing activities for those students who need to ride the bus.

Testing Schedule
May 8th –  WCAS – ALL Juniors are required to participate.
May 15th – Math SBA- ALL Sophomores, except those who tested in trimester 2. Math EOC – ALL Seniors who have not met the math standard graduation requirement.
May 17th – Math SBA – ALL Juniors who have not taken or met the math standard graduation requirement.
May 22nd – ELA SBA Part I – ALL Sophomores (except those who took the assessment in trimester 2), Juniors and Seniors who have not met the ELA standard for graduation.
May 24th – ELA SBA Part II – ALL Sophomores (except those who took the assessment in trimester 2), Juniors and Seniors who have not met the ELA standard for graduation.

We will be using the following schedule during testing dates. 

May 8th – Periods 3-2-1
May 15th -  Periods 3-4-5
May 17th – Periods 3-2-1
May 22nd – Periods 3-4-5
May 24th – Periods 3-2-1

 

Computer Programmer Volunteers Wanted

Kelso High School is participating in a great program called TEALS that pairs computer science volunteers with teachers who are introducing computer science classes at the high school. We are looking for volunteers for next year’s classes. If you have a degree in computer science or experience in computer programming and can dedicate about 1-2 hours a week (you’ll be done by 9:00 AM) please contact brenda.sargent@kelsosd.org for more information. We’d love to have you join our team as we prepare Kelso students for 21st century jobs. For more information, check out https://www.tealsk12.org/volunteers/.

Changes to Senior Project Requirements

In order to earn a diploma and participate in graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2018 and beyond, students MUST fulfill all coursework and complete a community service project. Kelso High will no longer require a FORMAL presentation component of the Senior Project.
