Beginning
with the Class of 2008,
all Washington graduates must fulfill the following
four requirements...
1) Pass the Reading/Writing WASL
2) Complete a culminating project:
This integrated learning project helps students understand the connection
between school and the real world by studying a topic they like and presenting
their findings to teachers, community members and other students.
3) Meet class credit requirements:
Students must pass a certain number of classes in English, math, science (including
one lab), social studies, health and fitness, visual or performing arts, occupational
education and electives (number of credits required depends on the school
district).
4) Craft a high school and beyond plan:
Students must detail their plan for meeting the high school graduation requirements
and what they expect to do the year after graduation.
