Common Core Standards-

Today’s students are preparing to enter a world in which colleges and businesses are demanding more than ever before. To ensure all students are ready for success after high school, the Common Core State Standards establish clear, consistent guidelines for what every student should know and be able to do in math and English language arts from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Special Events

Yearbook Sales Contest-

Our yearbook sales contest begins Dec. 8th and runs through Dec. 17th during 1st period. Yearbook prices are $20 with an ASB and $24 without. BUY NOW as the prices will increase after Dec. 19th. to $25 with an ASB and $29 without.



Important 2015/2016 High School Parent Informational Meetings for next year's Trimester Schedule:

 

 There will be several informational meetings about the trimester/5 period schedule that will be implemented at Kelso High School beginning in the 2015/16 school year. The first of these meetings will take place on December 16, 2014 at 9:00 am and 6:00 pm in the Kelso High School library. If you are unable to attend either of these meetings, please continue to watch your email for future dates and times for additional meetings that will take place after the first of the year. 



OUR NEXT DONUTS WITH DAD'S AND GRANDAD'S WILL BE ON JANUARY 7TH AND OUR MUFFINS WITH MOM'S AND GRANDMOM'S WILL BE ON JANUARY 21ST. BOTH BEGIN AT 7:30 A.M. 


 

Elective Fair AND Parent/Student Transition Information for 8th Graders:

On February 11th the 8th grade class will be traveling to the Kelso High School for an Elective Fair. They will be determining their 9th grade electives for next year. Please look for these forms to be coming home in February. Also on February 11th at 6:30 p.m. is the Parent/Student Transition Night at the Kelso High School. You and your student will receive valuable information on the transition into 9th grade.

 FLASH ALERT and INCLEMENT WEATHER 

With the Fall/Winter weather approaching, and possible school delays and/or closures, we would like to encourage parents to sign up for FlashAlert, an email/text notification system. You can download the FlashAlert App for Android/Ios phones where text messages can be sent directly to your phone (text message rates may apply according to your service provider) or sign up on the FlashAlert website for email notifications. You can also find weather related school delays and/or closures through the local radio station or at the Kelso School District hotline at 501-1990. We have also added the Bus Snow Route information for AM and PM under the Huntington Links to the left. 


SCHOOL DRESS CODE:

Please remind your student about the appropriate dress attire for school.  A dress code flyer is under the Huntington Links for detailed information about clothing attire for Huntington this includes pajama's and slippers
. We greatly appreciate your help in enforcing these policies! 


STUDENT SAFETY:

For the safety of all students, the back parking lot is for Kelso School District administrators and staff only. If you are visiting Huntington or picking up/dropping off a student, please do so through the front entrance. Also please remember, all visitors need to check in at the front office as they enter/leave the school.

Internet Explorer Compatibility Issue: Are the menus not working for you? - Monday, December 9, 2013

Some users may have difficulty navigating our website menus when using the latest version Internet Explorer (IE11). This can be avoided by selecting "Compatibility mode" and adding web addresses into an exception box.. (If you are having trouble, navigate to the top and choose to show your Menu Bar. From there, select Tools.) This site works well using Google Chrome Browser which can be downloaded here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser
