In addition to the major remodels of Barnes
Elementary School and Kelso High School, the
$29.9 million school bond approved by voters
included capital improvements throughout Kelso
Public Schools. Following passage of the bond,
the school board made the decision to move
ahead on six priority projects, as follows:
Priority #1
Upgrade electrical wiring for each school
not included in the major renovation projects.
Status: Completed
Priority #2
Install new door hardware on every classroom
of every building not included in the major
renovation projects.
Status: To be completed during the 2002-03
school year
Priority #3
Replace the siding on the multipurpose on
the south side of Wallace Elementary School.
Status: Completed
Priority #4
Purchase of portable classrooms for Beacon
Elementary School
Status: Completed
Priority #5
Install playground drainage and surfacing
at Rose Valley and Carrolls elementary
schools.
Status: Completed
Priority #6
Enlarge Catlin Elementary School covered
play area.
Status: Completed
