CATLIN ANNOUNCEMENTS

Naming our new school begins with YOU!

Name our new school

Exciting news: we’re gearing up to start construction on the new elementary at Lexington.

More exciting news: we want your help naming the school, choosing a mascot, and picking school colors.

Our three-step process begins with YOU.

  1. Submit your suggestions by March 18th via this online survey: bit.ly/KSD-Name
  2. The Naming Committee, made of up stakeholders from Beacon Hill, Catlin, and our community will narrow down your suggestions to a top 3 list, and present them to the superintendent
  3. The school board will make the final decisions in early May

Please take a few minutes and share with us your good ideas. We want to hear from you.

Expired: DADS and DONUTS

Attention Dads:  Please join your student for Dads and Donuts on Thursday, March 14th from 8:15-8:45 AM.

CATLIN IS A “SCHOOL OF DISTINCTION”

Outstanding improvement in reading and math sustained over a five-year period is the reason that Catlin Elementary School received the 2014 School of Distinction (SOD). The Center for Educational Effectiveness (CEE) in partnership with the Association of Educational Service Districts (AESD), the Association of Washington School Principals (AWSP), Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA), Washington State School Directors’ Association (WSSDA), and Washington State Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (WSASCD) have recognized schools in the top 5% of improvement for their levels. Catlin Elementary is one of only 54 elementary schools to receive this prestigious award in our state!
