Seeking Community Input on Strategic Plan : Roadmap for Results

Kelso School District Kindergarten Registration
 
Registration packets for kindergarten students for the 2012-2013 school year will be available at all Kelso School District elementary schools beginning Monday, May 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 
 
Students must be five years old before midnight on August 31, 2012, in order to be eligible to enter kindergarten in the fall of 2012.  Immunization records, birth certificate, and proof of address (rental receipt, escrow papers or utility bill) must be presented at the time of registration.  The student does not need to be present for registration.

Kelso School District - Child Find
Kelso Public Schools will ensure that all students with disabilities who are eligible from birth through 21 years of age, residing within our attendance area, have available to them a free and appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment.

HIB Policy and Procedure Updates and Forms
All Kelso schools take the Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying (HIB) of students very seriously. According to the 2010 Healthy Youth Survey the large majority of students in Kelso schools indicate that they feel safe at school. Kelso School Board has updated district policy and procedures regarding HIB. For more information and to download the form click here.
Kelso English as a Second Language Students Meet
State Achievement Targets

Students in the Kelso School District English as a Second Language (ESL) program are tested annually with the Washington Language Proficiency Test (WLPT-II), which measure English proficiency in the skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening. During the 2010/2011 school year, Kelso ESL students met all three targets, called annual measureable achievement objectives. Parent Letter in Spanish. Parent Letter in English.
